In today’s world we see one of the spiritual sickness is
Discerning between the voice of God, our own & that of Satan
We have to be very careful about understanding which one is gods will wish voice, which one is ours and which one is Satan‘s voice. We may go, finding things sometime very similar and yet we are deceived by our enemy, we lose pace towards our spiritual growth lead our self to backsliding life. We move away from god slowly, the time you come know you miss away like the lost son Parable situations,
Now the question how to recognize the voice of “God”,”Human”,”Satan”
Let check out what bible says about this.
Friends, we need to understand first how different is god thoughts than our thoughts
We are all finite, limited beings living in a sin-cursed universe. There may be times when our thoughts are like God’s thoughts. After all, believers are to “be imitators of God” (Ephesians 5:1),
Human thoughts have a beginning, yet God is the Beginning and End (Revelation 1:8).
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Evil thoughts are entirely against God’s nature, we need to know this first
Now comes again question how to recognize god voice. We cannot do His Will if we cannot discern His Voice
“Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.” Proverbs 8:34 –
O Lord, I have heard your speech and was afraid. O Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years!” Habakkuk 3:2
Listen, what the word of god says, but today we can see many Christian have spiritual deafness. “Behold the Word of the Lord is a reproach to them; they have no delight in it.” Jeremiah 6:10
Every word of god has purpose; now when bible talks about hear/Listen. Now we need to understand the purpose of hearing to what god says.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”Romans 12:2
At the same time when you hear word of god , also certain conditions need to understand to get the clear picture of gods purpose, We need to have clear heart to hear, willing to know, faith in god, Applying the Lordship of Christ to all areas of life. Now coming to point how to differentiate between God’s voice, our own and that of Satan’s
1. By God, we can mean either him, or the Holy Spirit or Jesus speaking to us
2. By the devil we can mean a seducing spirit and not actually the devil himself.
3. By my own, the thoughts that come from Our mind
God has given us the Bible to test all revelation that we receive we receive revelation through our inner man, our spirit we process that revelation, test it, walk it out through the faculties -use of our minds.
Few Methods to discern the voices we hear
1. God speaks deep within my spirit, and the devil speaks to my soul or mind
It is imperative we learn to discern whether what we heard came from deep within (the spirit) or on a more upper level, (soulish realm)
God alone, resides, takes residence within our spirit. Satan and God cannot both occupy our spirit man at one time.
“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”(1 Corinthians 6:17)
1. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit…” (Hebrews 4:12, KJV)
2. How many times, I cannot count, a thought has come to me that I found upon reading the word of God, the word confirmed
Satan’s can penetrate and/or inject thoughts
1. Have you ever had a thought enter your mind of evil and wondered where that came from?
2. What was your reaction, when that crossed your minds?
Your immediate thought in your spirit is, why in the world would I ever think such a thing?
We’ll I have good news. You did not think it, he did. Satan threw it at you, hoping to unseat your peace as he whispers, if you were a REAL Christian, you never would have thought that.
GODS VOICE-“For God is not the author of confusion…” (1 Cor. 14:33)
God’s voice is gentle and persuasive, free from pressure – Satan is loud and clamoring, always demanding an immediate response.
God says, this is what you ought to do – Satan screams, this is what you HAVE to do!
God’s voice produces peace and a sense that everything is under control. Satan’s voice speaks of despair, you have missed it, and all is lost…
God’s voice is always clear and distinctive, giving us clear direction in which to go. Voice of Satan perplexes, causes confusion, loss of direction
God tends to speak when I am seeking and listening for him. Satan breaks into our thoughts uninvited…
